Among those employers present at the launch were Solihull Council, HMRC, Birmingham City Football Club, Arup, Chamber of Commerce, Solihull Primary Care Trust, Prime Accountants and others. All are interested in supporting this new Career Academy, either by offering one-to-one business mentoring, six-week paid internships, visits or Guru Lectures.

The launch, which took place at Arup in Shirley saw the College's Prinicipal Paul Ashdown and Business teacher Ranjit Hayer present the plans of the Career Academy to business leaders. Solihull Council Chief Executive Mark Rogers and Career Academies UK Regional Manager Alison Jack were also there to pledge their support.

A representative from Coventry Building Society also spoke about how the programme has been working for his company, with four current Career Academy students present to answer questions on their experiences.

Business teacher at the College, Ranjit Hayer said, "We were delighted with the number of businesses who sent representatives to the launch and who showed such eagerness to support this initiative. Their involvement can really make a difference to the lives of our students though the Career Academy programme. We are also very grateful to Arup for hosting this event in such style."
