Internship success in the Midlands

Tuesday 31 August

Despite the current economic climate, the vast majority of Career Academy students in the Midlands region secured a placement over the summer. Judging by the feedback and photos taken the students have been a credit to themselves, their schools and colleges and Career Academies UK.

New supporters include BBC, Blakemore Wholesalers, Cherwell DC, Coventry City Council, Digital Birmingham, DHL, Mace Group, Norbar Torque Tools, Virgin Trains, Wolverhampton University to name but a few.

Rafiah from Lyng Hall school in Coventry went to Coventry City Council and experienced working in various departments. She surprised herself with her ability to adapt to working in different teams, and in getting up for work on time every day for six weeks! Her advice to future students would be, " Joining a Career Academy is your opportunity to gain excellent experience that other students your age would not get the chance to have. Consider yourself to be exteremely lucky as opportunities like this don't come along often."

Thank you to all existing and new supporters whose support is vital in order for us to continue to provide these fantastic opportunities for our growing number of Career academy students each year.
