Tuesday 1 December

Career Academies UK welcomes the following schools and colleges who have opened their Career Academies in September 2009: Ashton Sixth Form College (Academy of Business and IT) The Oldham College (Academy of ICT) Blackpool Sixth Form College (Academy of Business and Finance) Darwen Aldridge Community Academy (Academy of Business and Entrepreneurship)  and Burnley College (Academy of Engineering)

All Career Academies are developing strong links with new and existing employers and we look forward to supporting the students over the coming year.

The schools and colleges starting their ‘Year of Planning' and hoping to open Career Academies in September 2010 are: South Cheshire College (Crewe), St Chad's High School and St Peter and Paul's High School (Halton), King George VI College (Southport ) and The Oldershaw School (Wallasey).

The Oldham College are also participating in a Career Academies UK feasibility study, looking at a potential Career Academy programme for 14-16 year old students.
