a number of parties - from within the education
institution and in the community - and can cause new problems.
For example, scheduling can become more
difficult, due to the need to group students together across several

Career Academy should be implemented carefully and thoroughly.

technical assistance to schools and colleges for a full year before a Career
Academy is implemented.
Advanced planning and engagement of all members of the Career Academy team -
including teachers, senior managers and business partners - is essential to
a successful Career Academy launch.
Institutions accepted for Year of Planning (YOP)
status work through a series of structured planning activities,
resources and programmes to serve both the Career Academy implementation and
broader school/college improvement plans.
The deadline to enrol on the next
Year of Planning is 30 April 2006. We look
